Through the consulting practice of  Esgate & Associates , Patricia Esgate specializes in strategic business development for market platforms that utilize dynamic experiences to build brand loyalty, drive repeat visitation and increase revenue.
Ms. Esgate’s clients have included the Walt Disney Company, Sony, Universal Studios, Jim Henson Productions and the McDonald’s Corporation, along with an extensive list
of individual projects both domestic and international. Ms. Esgate also assists suppliers to the industry in the strategic development
of their business, sales and marketing efforts. As a uniquely connected individual within the destination experience industry, Ms. Esgate has also organized several conferences focusing on the use of experiences as market drivers, including her own yearly event,
The Summit for Experience Creators.

Patricia has appeared at industry events as both a featured speaker and provocateur.
She has also served as a faculty member
for
Harvard University’s Experience Architecture Forum as well as Pine & Gilmore’s popular Strategic Horizons thinkAbouts.
Ms. Esgate and Al Lieberman  (Executive Director of the Entertainment, Media and Technology Program at New York University's Stern School of Business) are co-authors of The Definitive Guide to Entertainment Marketing: Bringing the Moguls, the Media and the Magic to the World (Second Edition, Pearson, 2014) and an earlier edition, The Entertainment Marketing Revolution, (Pearson, 2002). Both are insightful looks at how and why entertainment has permeated every marketable product, service, concept and destination. The Entertainment Marketing Revolution has also been translated into Spanish, under the title La Revolucion Del Marketing Del  Entretenimiento: Acercando Los Magnates, Los Medios Y La Magia, Al Mundo.

As a principal in Experience Ink, Ms. Esgate served as the Executive Editor
of EGate, a leadletter featuring new project leads to the specifiers and suppliers of destination experiences. From 1998 to 2003 she served as the Editor and Publisher of EM magazine and The EZone newsletter, ground- breaking publications that focused
on all facets of the experiential marketplace.
Now laughably “retired”, Pat enjoys a full and happy life doing exactly what she likes to do, at the time she chooses to do it. This includes volunteer work at COPS Barn, an equine therapy facility; serving as a board member for SHAREAfrica (www.shareafrica.org), an organization dedicated to saving lives, fostering a sustainable future, and vastly improving the quality of life for children and adults in AIDS-ravaged African communities; and assisting individuals and organizations in creating sustainable community strategies. She is a proud and active member of Rotary International, a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change, across the globe, in our own communities, and in ourselves.

In her spare time, she is actively working on the Great American Novel, like every other
laptop-pounding Starbucks guest.
